Bye bye heartache

e-Separation stress

Your dog follows you wherever you go? When you get up, does he go everywhere with you? When dogs have problems with being alone, it can manifest itself in many different ways. The dog is always following us, he barks and howls in the absence of his owners, or destroys something in the apartment…….or even the dog suffers in silence. The latter is not uncommon and you can easily find this out if you ever run a camera to see what the dog does during the absence. Separation stress equals pain and can lead to serious consequences in the long run. In 6 modules you will learn how to train your dog to stay alone. Especially at Corona times many are in the home office and the whole day with the dog. But that will change at some point. Even if the dog had no problems in the past, it can look completely different now. So it’s better to be prepared than to have to deal with it.

Going through life as a team

e-Dog wishes

My dog is stubborn, again has no desire and does what he wants….Is there such a thing as “stubborn” at all in the world of dogs?

What could be the reason for behavior changes or lack of motivation in the dog?

What is the dominance theory all about and does the alpha wolf really exist? And if so, what does that mean for life with the dog? What’s the deal with all this pack stuff, anyway?

How can you better understand what your dog is trying to tell you? How can you better assess a cohabitation and the well-being of the dog and what should you pay more attention to?

In the webinar hour we talk about all this :-) and more….

Prevention instead of aftercare

e-Second dog - Breeding - Animal welfare

The trend is still towards multiple dog ownership. The picture in our minds is usually as follows:

Both dogs are cuddling in their basket next to each other, eating their treats and being happy. Walks are so much nicer because they now have a companion with them and both can play, run and romp together…..Even when I’m not there, the dog is no longer alone…..Is that really so???

Unfortunately, this does not work out in all cases and often the dog owners are faced with the desperate question of whether to give the dog back.

What considerations should I make about the other dog? Age, gender, race? When is the right time to do it? What can I do ahead of time to prepare myself and my home for moving in?

Breeder or animal welfare? What do I need to consider in both cases?

What to do if something goes wrong? How could it go on then?

We’ll discuss these and other questions and considerations in this webinar!

Become the greatest for your dog

e-Activity

You have the choice! Do you want to be the greatest for your four-legged friends, or be ignored by boredom…?

Are you one of those dog owners who feel guilty when you have to shorten your walk because you don’t have time or the weather is bad?

Then we have great news for you here. Contrary to what many think, exercise is not the only way to “exercise” our dogs. This is, of course, usually important, but well-being should also include mental occupation.

Dogs that are mentally challenged and learn to develop solution strategies are usually less frustrated and better balanced.

In this webinar, we’ll show you what you can do indoors without making a big purchase. You will be surprised what you have at home and can use.

The same applies to the walk. We’ll shed some light on that one, too, and look at a few examples of what you can do interactively.

If you want to get more into training, check out our tricks section.

Become the center of the universe for your little ones. You will see how much fun you will have together!

After booking you will receive access to the seminar.

Prevention instead of redemption

e-New Year's Eve fear

Every year there is a New Year’s Eve – that’s for sure. Some dogs don’t mind the day (yet), others are tense and anxious days before. What is the reason for this and what can be done about it? Can my dog develop New Year’s Eve anxiety even if he hasn’t had any problems with it before? To comfort or not to comfort? What makes sense in training and what does not? What can happen if I do nothing against it, freely the slogan “there must the dog then just once in the year through.”

In this seminar, we’ll talk about what can be done to prepare our four-legged friends early for New Year’s Eve. There are also ways to work on dogs that already have problems on New Year’s Eve.

After booking you will receive access to the seminar.

Der Weg ist das Ziel

e-Conflicts in dog encounters

The trend is clear! More and more dog owners suffer from the issue of conflicts in dog encounters or problems with other triggers. Your dog literally freaks out on the leash when he sees a conspecific already at a distance? You have already tried everything possible, but nothing helps? The walk becomes a nightmare and your only hope is not to meet other dog owners? You are frustrated why your dog can’t just be as relaxed with others as the other dogs? I can promise you that there are many, many people who feel as you do. At this point, however, it is important to understand WHY your dog reacts the way he does. What are the possible causes? How does leash aggression happen in the first place and are there ways to improve the situation?

We cover all of this in this webinar and give you background information on the subject.

e-Puppies and young dogs

This webinar is all about the puppy moving into its new home, developing into a young dog, and what puberty brings….

How long is a puppy actually a puppy? What is going on in the puppy when it leaves its mother and siblings? What should I pay attention to in training? What does the magic word socialization actually mean? Why should I be prepared when my dog hits puberty? What is different in the young dog than in the puppy? What does this mean for training?

We cover all of this in this webinar and give you background information on the subject.

How does a dog actually learn

e-Learning theory

This module is all about how our four-legged friends actually learn.

Esther covers all the common forms of learning in our videos and demonstrates with her dog Cuba how the practical application works.

Why is good timing so important when it comes to rewards?

How do I work with a marker?

Why is it not useful to always lure the dog with food?

What are actually the consequences of scolding or punishing?

What motivates my dog to cooperate?

How can I set up an exercise so that my dog understands it?

What is actually meant by socialization and habituation?

When is my reward also a reward for the dog?

These and many other questions will be answered in this module, which revolves around the topic of learning theory.

Inform instead of physiotherapy

e-Accessories selection

In this webinar, our instructor Esther Würtz uses Jackie and her dog Cuba to explain to you what to consider when choosing leashes, harnesses and collars.

What kind of lines are there anyway?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of long and short lines?

Should you use a collar or a harness?

How exactly does a harness need to fit and how should it be made?

Is a collar the same as a collar? What should I look for when buying?

How do I get my dog used to wearing a collar and harness?

What do I have to pay attention to when leashing and unleashing?

Have fun with this nice tutorial, which will answer all your questions :-)

Just listen to your dog …

e-Body language

We love our dogs, would do anything for them and they are the most loyal companions in the world?!

So how is it that so few dog owners pay attention to dog body language? We live day in and day out with our “best friend” and yet understand very little of what he wants to tell us….

In this seminar we look at the expression structures of dogs. This will give you a first impression of how our dogs communicate with us and their peers. A kind of checklist at the end helps you to consolidate what you have learned in everyday life.

We also look at the most common mistakes we as humans make body language wise when interacting with our dogs.

We shed light on common questions such as:

  • The dog wags his tail, so he is happy…..
  • He knows exactly what he has done again…
  • He loves to be squeezed by children….
  • He smiles at me…
  • He just wants to play….
  • He is quite dominant…

Is all this really the case? We will shed light on these and many other questions and assumptions in this online seminar.

How does a dog actually learn

e-The marker

In this webinar Esther introduces you to the Clicker and explains how you can work with it. How does the clicker work at all and what does it actually mean to work with a marker? How do I set up the clicker correctly? What first exercises can I do with it? What are the sources of errors to avoid during training?

You will learn all this in this module. As always, Esther is actively supported by her dog Cuba.

Primates versus predators

e-Sensory performance

What actually distinguishes primates from predators? So how is it with man and dog?

Why do dogs see worse than we do in sunlight and better at dusk?

Why should I know such things when I am training or out with my dog?

Does the color of the objects in training play a role in success?

How sharp do our four-legged friends actually see compared to us and are there any potential spectacle wearers among you?

How far does the head actually have to turn towards me so that my dog can perceive me?

What do neon tubes have to do with epilepsy and what makes Marder Warner so unpleasant?

We will clarify these and many other questions in this webinar!

Small steps to success

e-Tooth brushing training

Brushing the dog’s teeth…how does that work???

This is exactly the question we will address in this webinar. All questions about dental health have already been answered in detail in the webinar Dental Health in Dogs – Interview with Dr. Gabriele Walb. But now the question arises for many of you: How do I start brushing my teeth in the first place?

Ideally, you train a start signal with your dog in advance, but this is not a condition for the training. In the film I explain to you in the individual modules once again what you need to brush your teeth for utensils and we begin with the practice. With my dog Feliz, we go through the steps you need to practice for brushing your teeth. We also address special features and possible sources of errors in the training. Between the modules you have to practice continuously, as always, because from nothing comes NIX ;-)

e-Nutrition & Behavior

In the webinar with Dr. Julia Fritz, we learned what points to know about dog nutrition. In this webinar, however, we will look at what influence nutrition has on the behavior of our dogs and cats. We are pleased to have won Esther Würtz for this again, who is specialized among other things exactly in it as a veterinary surgeon for behavior medicine. Together we look at some feed ingredients, nutritional supplements, diseases, everyday demands and many other details around the topic, of course always with regard to the influence of behavior.

Also very nice is that cats also get attention in this topic in the lecture.

We hope you enjoy this exciting lecture!
